Our dog won’t walk across this driveway:
He cowers and cries.
(We walk around it instead.)
Fear — always, somehow, inexplicable.

i think fear is always explicable, but not all of us are lucky enough to find the explanation. It is a rational response.
Hmm … I’m not so sure about that. I think fear is often completely irrational and the best way to deal with it is to laugh at the ridiculousness of it! But perhaps we are talking about different kinds of fear?
